While you are treating your Taste Buds to tantalizing treats from the Far East, be sure to indulge yourself with the rich stunning sights and sounds of performances from across Asia,as far north as Japan spanning the Asian Continent across China to India to the South Sea Islands of the Philippines in the Pacific Ocean and all of Asia’s richness in between. Taste of Asia is not just about food, it's also about experiencing ethnic culture. We're pleased to present our diverse line up of live entertainment for the day. All performances will take place on the main stage.

As you learn about the cultures from the performances, you can also enjoy learning about cooking from our cooking demos. Chef Cathlyn, from the Korean cooking show "Cathlyn's Korean Kitchen" will be giving a cooking demo at 2pm. Her show airs on Fridays at 9:25pm on Time Warner Cable Channel 12.

In addition to the live entertainment, there will also be cultural activities in various places. Please check the event map for more details.

National Anthem by Ziming Li, a very talented, young individual, who performed the lead role in a local production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.”
12:00PM - 12:15PM Lion Dance
Van Kiep Lion Dance, formed in 1983, by the members of the Vietnamese Boy Scout Group, Troop 1000, is one of the best lion dance groups in San Diego.
12:15AM - 12:30PM Traditional Chinese Folk Dance
Xing-Jian Dance Studio was founded in 2004 for children (8 – 15 years old) to study traditional Chinese folk dances.

12:30PM - 12:50PM Thai Classical Dances
Performers of the Thai School for Language, Arts, and Culture will perform various classical Thai dances that are largely based on ancient myths and religious stories.
12:50PM - 1:20PM Taiko Drumming
Naruwan Taiko, started in January 2008 by collegiate Taiko drummer, Diana Wu, teaches people of all ages and all levels to learn Japanese-style drumming.
1:20PM - 1:40PM Filipino Dance
Samahan Philippine Dance Company, organized in 1974, teaches various dances, representing the different regions in the Philippines.

2:15PM - 2:30PM Chinese Erhu Music
Professor Huihui Huang performs the Erhu, an ancient Chinese string instrument. She has been playing the Erhu for about 10 years and has performed at numerous occasions in China.
2:30PM - 2:45PM Traditional Korean Instrumental Music
See World Baptist Church Korean Traditional Samulnori Team, formed five years ago, performs the Korean traditional music, Samulnori or “four instruments” and refers to the four instruments played by the musicians.
2:45PM - 3:00PM Chinese Martial Arts Demonstration
Hong Wu Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy, established by Huang Qin in September 2008, provides extensive training for students interested in studying Chinese Martial Arts.
3:00PM - 3:40PM Indian Dance and Music
Performers from the House of India will be showcasing their artistic talents through various traditional dances and music.
3:40PM - 4:00PM Barnard Elementary School Performance
The students of the Barnard Elementary School will be showcasing their talents through Mandarin Chinese songs.
